Pickleball is played with a paddle. It is a mix of sports like tennis and ping-pong.
The ball is hard.
A pickleball is less bouncy than a tennis ball. The holes help it fly straight.
It is played on a court.
A pickleball court looks like a tennis court. But it is smaller. There are thousands of pickleball courts in the United States. More are built all the time.
A game is called a match.
A match can have two or four players. They hit the ball back and forth over a net. This is called a rally. That ball can fly!

Pickleball is named after a type of racing boat. It is called the pickle boat. Its rowers come from different teams. The crew is a mix. Just like pickleball is a mix of sports.
