Hurricane Safety
Do you live in a place where hurricanes happen? There are things your family can do before a hurricane hits. Here are four.
Plan to leave if needed.
Know the evacuation route. Road signs point the way.
Keep an emergency kit.
Include water and canned food. Have enough for several days.
Protect your belongings.
Bring things inside that could blow away. Raise furniture off the ground to protect it from floods.
Have a plan for pets.
Pets need food and shelter too. Plan an emergency kit for them. You can ask your vet for help.
