Sharing Your Impact
Our Service Stars program highlights kids who are making a positive impact on their communities. We love hearing about how you're striving to make the world a brighter place.

From Mia C., 10, Connecticut:
I’ve done community work at a garden, helping harvest food. It’s nice to see someone have a smile on their face, but it’s even better knowing that you put it there. Maybe I can start a clothing drive!
From Nugg C., 9, Pennsylvania:
I could get a group of kids to make and put up signs to advertise our community’s youth center. It has lots of activities, like playing basketball, arcade games, and card games, or watching television.
From Abigail G., 8, Washington:
I started doing compliment chains. Friends celebrate one another by creating paper loops with compliments. Then I came up with Earth Baby, a doll given to honor people’s kindness. The money from the dolls will help kids in Uganda.

I helped someone with their work. When I needed help, they helped me. So it was kindness back and forth.
From Pamela C. (teacher), New York:
Students at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary, in Wyandanch, New York, are celebrating World Kindness Day on November 13. They’ve been writing compliment-filled notes to teachers and other staff, and will distribute them along with bags of treats they’ve assembled.
From Dylan G., 10, Connecticut:
For the fall and winter seasons, I can rake leaves and shovel driveways for money, and donate the money to people in need. I hope we get a lot of snow this year!
From Caroline R., 7, Ohio:
I love talking to people and making them feel better. I make people better with my jokes and silliness. I hope other kids are doing the same.
From Bohan S., 11, Texas:
At school, I helped students clean up the cafeteria. For the community, I donated my beloved books to little kids, and I baked cookies to give to senior residents. Even though the things I did weren’t major, they still spread kindness.
From Erin B. (parent), Illinois:
My son Elias is a second grader. He was out raking yards for community members with high school volunteers. They also raked all of the leaves at his school, which was a big job. Elias is already excited for his next service project.
From Madison C., 10, Connecticut:
In my school we are going to have a business fair. I am making candles to sell. We are using the money for our grade-level field trips for the year. Not every family can afford all of our trips.
