Crowds gather to watch the sunrise at Stonehenge, on England’s Salisbury Plain, on June 21. They came to celebrate the summer solstice. That’s the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. Stonehenge is a circle of giant stones. It was built about 5,000 years ago.
