Visitors to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, in Washington, D.C., got their first look at Qing Bao (above) and Bao Li on January 24. The giant pandas arrived on loan from China in October. They underwent quarantine and health checks. Now they’re ready to roll. “Bao Li and Qing Bao have already won the hearts of our staff,” zoo director Brandie Smith says. They’re winning over the public, too, at the zoo and via Giant Panda Cam, on the zoo’s website.
