Sonic the Hedgehog is back for more speedy adventures in the new movie Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Sonic, voiced by Ben Schwartz, faces a new villain: Shadow, another powerful hedgehog. We learn that Shadow has become a villain after a lifetime of pain and loss.
Jim Carrey is back too, as Dr. Robotnik. He also plays Dr. Robotnik’s grandfather, and “meets himself” onscreen. “I hear I’m difficult to work with, so I was a little nervous,” Carrey jokingly told TFK.
James Marsden and Tika Sumpter play Tom and Maddie, Sonic’s adoptive parents. Sonic was lucky to find them, Marsden told TFK—“and we were lucky to find him.”
Moviegoers will see Sonic and Shadow’s rivalry come to life. Fans will enjoy the special appearances. And be sure to stay through the credits for teasers of future Sonic adventures.
