What would happen if humans and dinosaurs lived together? Author and illustrator MATT PHELAN (pictured) imagines an answer to that question in his new book, Knights vs. Dinosaurs. The illustrated chapter book is about four knights and a squire stranded in a land of dinosaurs. The knights face off with all kinds of dinos, from a heavily armored ankylosaurus to a fierce T. rex.
Phelan wants kids to enjoy reading Knights vs. Dinosaurs. “I think comedy and adventure are a great combination for storytelling,” he told TFK Kid Reporter Minoo Jang. But the book also delivers a lesson about working together. The knights must unite to escape the dinosaurs. Phelan hopes this will teach young readers “to be the best version of yourself that you can be.”
