The first image from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope was released on July 11. It shows SMACS 0723. That’s a cluster of galaxies from nearly 5 billion years ago. The telescope uses the science of light and gravity to see far into the past. It provides the deepest look we’ve ever seen of the early universe.
