Meet the Candidates
Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are the two main candidates for president of the United States in the 2024 election. They represent different political parties. Trump is a Republican. Harris is a Democrat. And they have had different experiences. Read about the candidates below.
Kamala Harris was born in California. Today, she lives in Washington, D.C., in a house reserved for the vice president.
Donald Trump was born in New York. Today, he lives in Palm Beach, Florida, at a resort called Mar-a-Lago.
Harris is the vice president of the United States now. She has served with President Joe Biden since 2021.
Trump served as president from 2017 to 2021. He is running for reelection. U.S. presidents can serve two terms.
Before she was vice president, Harris was a senator. Before that, she was the California attorney general.
Before becoming president, Trump was in the real estate business. He also hosted a reality television show.
Harris loves to cook. She says her mother taught her how. She also likes to try local restaurants when she travels.
Trump loves to play golf. He owns golf courses all over the world, including 12 in the United States.
